Javacya Summer Workshops at Freedom

For over 37 years Javacya Arts Conservatory has been a nationally recognized college preparatory music program. These summer workshops provide students with a chance to advance their skills, prepare for All-State competition, and learn the discipline of music in a fun and fast-paced environment.

Accelerated Learning From Exceptional Teachers

Javacya students have gone on to be accepted at top colleges and universities, receive Grammy nominations, and hold key teaching positions at major institutions around the United States. This same quality of instruction will be brought to these accelerated workshops. Boost your students skill and passion for music and set them on a course for success.

General Activities and Schedule:
  • Camp will be help 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday (August 5-9)
  • Regular Drop-off will begin at 8:30 AM
  • Early drop-off and late pick-up fees applicable
  • Students will participate in various music and technique classes according to their level.
  • Lunch and snacks provided.
  • Daily practice time
  • Daily music enrichment classes and activities.
  • Private lessons available upon request for an additional fee.
  • Friday Fun-Day parents are invited for grill-out lunch
  • Early Friday afternoon group Concert at the end of the workshops.

  • Early Drop-Off (Optional): $6
  • Late Pick-Up (Optional): $6
  • Deadlines:
    • Registration fee due upon registration
    • 50% Tuition due by July 8, 2019
    • Remaining tuition due by July 22, 2019
    • After July 31 $25 late fee will be applied
Supplies
  • Class materials provided upon full tuition payment
  • Instrument rental ($20 for the week) arranged with Music Masters
  • Things to bring:
    • Music Stand
    • Pencils
    • Staff (music notation) paper or staff notebook
    • Composition book
    • Binder for music
Levels
Primary Accelerated Workshop

This workshop is a great way to motivate your young student to learn and make music this summer. Students will study the violin. This program is for students who have studied for one year or first time beginners.

  • 3 hours of music class each day
  • Mini-lessons in a group class setting
  • 1 to 2 hours of music enrichments (eg. rhythmic reading, movement and percussion)
  • Daily indoor and outdoor activities
  • Arts and crafts
  • Meet and have fun with other students.
  • Friday FunDay
  • Final Concert
Accelerated Workshop Level 1

Each student will have 4-5 hours of classes per day, (depending on level) which may include a combination of the following:

  • Older beginners are welcome. Prepare for middle school orchestra!
  • 1 hour repertoire class (large group class)
  • Mini-lesson in a master class setting or group lesson
  • 1 hour technique class
  • All-State Prep.
  • Music Mind & Music History Classes
  • 1 Hour Masterclass
  • Daily Practice
  • Private Lessons (upon request with additional fee)
  • Final Concert
Accelerated Workshop Level 2

Each student will have 4-5 hours of classes per day, (depending on level) which may include a combination of the following:

  • Older beginners are welcome. Prepare for middle/high school orchestra!
  • 1 hour repertoire class (large group class)
  • Mini-lesson in a master class setting or group lesson
  • 1 hour advanced jazz orchestra
  • 1 hour technique class
  • 1 hour All-State Orchestra Etudes and Scales
  • 1 hour All-State Repertoire
  • 1 Hour Masterclass
  • Daily Practice
  • Private Lessons (upon request with additional fee)
  • Friday FunDay
  • Final Concert
